Mt Hotham is Victoria's most unique alpine resort as the resort village is located on the top of the mountain and runs along the ridge line for about 2km from start to finish. Conveniently the free village bus service means once you arrive to the Mt Hotham resort you don't need your car. Simply arrive, unpack and relax. The village bus starts before 7am and finishes when the last bar closes in the early hours of the morning (please note this bus only runs during the ski season). There is oversnow assistance for your luggage available for most properties- (there may be a cost associated). Most of the ski runs run down from the road so grab lunch or a coffee at one of the many cafes which have exceptionally spectacular views.
Plan Mt Hotham Family Skiing This Season
The Hotham airport (open during winter for domestic flights) is 20km down the road or jump on a bus from Melbourne with pick-ups from Southern Cross Station or Tullamarine Airport. This is definitely one of the most accessible Mt Hotham resorts. The 2012 ski season starts on Saturday 9th and finishes on Sunday 30th September.
The skiing is great, but the best kept secret of Hotham is the summer months….Spring, Summer & Autumn are under-rated at Hotham, with stunning walking tracks, mountain biking, fishing, & horse riding all within an easy distance of the resort. There are several walks starting from the resort and a beautiful sun deck and outdoor area at The General Store there is no better spot to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the sunset while enjoying a delicious meal.

The Hotham Height Chalets are combination of 3, 4 & 5 bedroom stand-alone Chalets alone the side of the village ski run- some ski in – ski out, all with 1 undercover car space per chalet.
Jack Frost – max 6 share apartment
The Jack Frost apartments are located at bus stop #7 with a restaurant, retail store, supermarket & ski hire all onsite. There are a range of studio, 1 & 2 bedroom self contained apartments.
Karoondah #3 – max 8 share apartment
Karoondah is a complex of 10 apartments – Karoondah #3 is a 3 bedroom ground floor apartment is located right next to the Jack Frost complex and bus stop.
Lachen – max 10 share apartment 
Lachen apartments are perfect for family or groups with 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms and sleeping for 10 people. The apartments have a large upstairs living area with a wonderful view down into the Dargo Valley.
Moritz – max 7 share apartment
The Moritz apartments is a modern complex of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom self contained apartments. There at least 1 undercover car space per apartment(some with more), with a lockable & heated ski locker per apartment on the ground level so no carrying skis up to the apartment.
